Past and Present
Here at the Marysville Advocate, we think of ourselves as enablers. We make it possible for citizens to make informed decisions about their government, for businesses to communicate with their customers, for families and friends to keep in touch.
We remind people of the community’s past and implore people to consider the future. We encourage leaders to participate in thoughtful, educated planning, based on knowledge of what has gone before.
We do all of this with words and images.
It is appropriate that the Advocate makes its home in downtown Marysville in a venerable structure that was originally the telephone building. Words and messages have emanated from this convenient location since 1929 when the telephone company connected people with each other and the outside world.
We do the same today, each week publishing a true community newspaper that reaches more than 15,000 readers throughout the town, the trade area and far beyond. We’re 122 years old, and we continue to expand our services, using the latest technology to bring information in and out of Marysville and Marshall County.
